African Queen Quilt Top
It has been a long time since I've posted or done much of anything quilt wise.
However, a friend of mine sent me an assortment of about 20 African prints, plus several small pieces and a stack of solids along with a book about African American quilts. She asked if I could turn the fabrics into a queen size top. This collection of pictures shows the outcome. My husband helped with the color and print placement. Together I think we came up with a pleasing top.

Wow, Sandra, it's beautiful! The use of the bright solids as sashings is wonderful. Are the African fabrics cottons? Are you going to quilt it? What a good friend you are!!

Thanks Laura, Nancy, and Marion, my friend was wowed too. She has had it machine quilted and the binding is all that is left to do.
The fabrics are all 100% cotton. Most of the prints were made by native African women in Kenya.

Sandra, that's a wild one and wonderful. Your friend might have trouble falling asleep under such an exciting eye popping quilt.

The fabrics are all cotton.
Some of the prints were even made by native African women.
The top has been machine quilted and needs only the binding.
